Shannon Halton

Shannon comes from a proud military background. In her words, she “grew up as a military brat, our postings were primarily on the East Coast, to a career father who was Search and Rescue, so being part of a community that looks out for one another and assists whenever needed was second nature to me.”

Something akin to how I see CDRO's overall culture and impact. I studied Law Enforcement in college and have worked at many various occupations, always working to challenge myself and broaden my knowledge base. I have always, however, belonged to a volunteer Search and Rescue team wherever I found myself living across Canada, including off grid in Algonquin.

Shannon also volunteers with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, a local Ground Search and Rescue team and Abilities in Motion. It was through a deployment with OSARVA that she was introduced to the wonderful work that CDRO accomplishes, and “I knew that I wanted to be part of that and expand my experience and training in the world of Emergency Management. In my, not so copious, spare time, I love being on the water paddling or instructing Sea Kayaking through Paddle Canada, backcountry exploring or spending time with my fur and feather babies.”

CDRO is happy to welcome her to the team.
