Mike Bosnyak

Michael is an accomplished emergency response professional with over a decade of experience spanning local government, provincial government, and NGO sectors.  

 

He holds a degree from York University's School of Health Policy and Management and completed further specialization at TMU’s Emergency Management, Threat and Response Planning program.  

 

Michael’s career includes nine years with St. John Ambulance, three years with Toronto Paramedic Services during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and three years with Emergency Management Ontario (EMO). At EMO, Michael supported First Nations communities through emergency activations in response to flooding, forest fires, and critical infrastructure failures. 

 

Currently, Michael serves as an Emergency Management Coordinator with the City of Toronto, specializing in nuclear emergency management and planning. Beyond his technical expertise, he is a passionate advocate for first responder mental health, volunteering on workplace mental health initiatives and peer support teams. Michael’s dedication to public safety and mental health support highlights his commitment to making a lasting, positive impact within the emergency response community. 

 

Why CDRO? I joined CDRO to continue building my EM knowledge and expertise by participating in projects that contribute to the continuous improvement of the EM industry.
