"Learning is a gift when we apply it to help others. No two disasters are the same. We learn, apply, adapt and learn more together."

Kim brings 20+ years of operational emergency management experience and subject matter expertise to every course. She is certified in IMS and ICS, is an internationally Certified Management Consultant, and has earned an MBA and BA. She has designed and taught College and University courses, led workshops, and conducted numerous focus groups.

Kim's career and volunteer work are all about bridging the gap between the current and a better future state. As a CDRO instructor, as previous operational lead for Ontario with the Canadian Red Cross, strategist with Pearson Peacekeeping Centre, Service Duty Officer and departmental lead with the City of Ottawa, and business consultant to public and non-profit sector clients, she is constantly working towards a better future. Her work is inspired by people's courage, resilience, and grace in helping each other.

What brought her to CDRO?

"CDRO exemplifies the whole community approach that respects the contributions and experience of all. My greatest joy as a CDRO instructor is helping students make connections between each other's experiences, perspectives and course content. We learn from each other."
